PAX 96 Whitetail Center - Fawn Nursery

Bottle feeding has become an increasingly important part of our breeding operations here at the PAX 96. Two main factors that contribute to deer loss in captivity are “stress and disease”. We believe that by controlling these two elements in our deer herd early on, our herd mortality rate will continue to decrease. Although not all of our bottle-raised fawns come ‘running up’ as so-called pets, they will come up relatively close. This allows for better health inspections and overall body quality observations, resulting in quicker treatment of any illness that may occur. As we manage our deer herd’s stress level, we can more easily manage and prevent herd diseases. A calm and healthy herd is easier for everyone!
